Based in Singapore, Kai is a freelance bilingual writer-director with over 10 years of experience in media production. He has written and directed award-winning short films, English and Chinese TV series, and feature films, combining strong storytelling with a sharp sense of commercial appeal.
His work spans both original and commissioned projects across Singapore and the wider Asian market. His first feature film script, Shadows 殘影空間, premiered at the 2020 Hong Kong International Film Festival and was featured at festivals including BIFAN and BIFFF. His short film Final Exam won the Audience Choice Award and Biogen Award at Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2020 in Japan. His short film Home Is Where the Heart Is was later adapted into a TV series, which was nominated for Best Drama Series or Telefilm Made for a Single Asian Market at the ContentAsia Awards 2022 and later picked up by Netflix.
More recently, Kai was the writer-director behind 回到60年代当厨娘, which won Best Microdrama at Star Awards 2026. He has also written for the Chinese drama Crisisman 神之手, featuring Jasper Liu, and is one of the directors on the upcoming Chinese drama No Other Way 至死不渝. His feature project Malevolent Realm 牽亡魂 was selected for the 2023 Golden Horse Film Project Promotion.
He is currently developing new film and television projects for audiences across Singapore, Taiwan, and the wider Asian market.
